EDC CANK (various options)
The Bone Tactical E.D.C. C.A.N.K. (Every Day Carry Combat Application Neck Knife) is the most effective edged weapon designed or produced to date that's 100% fully concealable. It fills the void in the market between traditional full size “fighting knives” that can't be properly concealed and neck knives that are too small to be used as weapons. Large enough to be combat effective either offensively or defensively, yet small enough to be concealed comfortably and undetected. We've built this incredible blade off the principal of the best weapon being the weapon at hand, but the C.A.N.K.’s ease of carry and concealment is only the first of many unique attributes which make it such an essential tool.
The superior design of the C.A.N.K. affords it the combat potential of other fighting knives nearly twice its size. In order to be fully “combat effective” a spear point or clip point knife such as this should possess a cutting edge of at least 2.5”. This is mainly due to the depth of vital veins, arteries, connective tissues, and organs in the human body. The Bone C.A.N.K. has a cutting edge of 2 ¾” (always above and beyond minimum requirements). Furthermore, the style of a blade determines how that blade will be used in a fight as well as its level of effectiveness. An edged weapon has two primary uses: slashing and stabbing. Due it's unique blade profile, the Bone C.A.N.K. does both well. It also performs exceptionally in a forward or reverse grip, and with a variety of martial movement patterns in line with many knife fighting styles. The next indicator of an effective edged weapon is the grip, yet another area where the EDC C.A.N.K. is leaps and bounds ahead of all other concealed carry fixed blade knives. A large grip makes the knife too bulky to conceal without "printing" (showing through clothing), and also can become very uncomfortable over time as it could rub, poke, or chafe the person carrying it. Not a problem with the CANK! Most knives that do conceal well have a small grip or handle area, which makes them unsafe to use (due to the insecure purchase on the blade). The C.A.N.K.’s superior grip design prevents the operator from losing the knife when slashing, or from cutting oneself when stabbing. Our design allows this small and concealable knife to still feature an extremely secure grip. The weapons specialists at Bone Tactical were able to integrate this key feature with the help of our mechanical engineers, autoCAD software, and fiber optic laser cutting machines.
A true concealed carry combat and/or self-defense applicable knife is not just any knife worn concealed on ones person. It's important to understand the multiple factors at play before choosing a knife to carry for it's self-defense potential. Carrying a knife on a necklace is the easiest way for anyone to ensure they always have a blade, but a neck knife capable of elite martial use must also be capable of being worn without detection, even under a light T-shirt. Even the type and material of the necklace is of great importance here, and another small detail we've gone to great lengths to get right. The CANK, worn properly, will not “print”, or be visible as a knife to anyone around you (via any of the multiple carry options in either the kydex or the leather sheath). Therefore, for most individuals the maximum overall length of a concealable neck knife is around 6 inches (as anything over this length will likely "print" badly). Width profile and thickness are also a considerations. A neck knife with bulky handle scales will also limit concealability, this is why we've gone with a cord wrapped handle in the "Modern Warrior" configurations, or thin, contoured exotic hardwoods in the "Ancient Warrior" configuration. Our slimline, minimalist kydex sheath is only possible because we actually designed the retention point into the blade itself, something else we were first to introduce to the edged weapons industry. This integral retention point allows the total package to be extremely small and concealable while at the same time safe to the user (the knife won't come out of the sheath on it's own). It's also fast to access like all good fixed blade knives. The C.A.N.K. is all the weapon you need, and none of the flash or bulk you don’t.
The overall quality, fit, and finish of the Bone C.A.N.K. is that of a fine work of art, as are all of our edged weapons. We are currently using the highest quality, precision cut, differentially and individually hand flame hardened 3/16" thick, American made 4140 steel for these blades. 4140 chromoly is one of the toughest steels out there. Flame hardening allows us to get the perfect Rockwell hardness along the cutting edge while the rest of the knife is literally the toughest and most durable on the market. It won't ever break or chip under normal use like many of the more popular stainless steels will under torque, tension, or when encountering other hard objects. We hand grind every knife individually in multiple phases both before and after heat treating and with multiple grit belts to ensure an extremely sharp edge. All our knives are coated with Cerakote to offer a lifetime of protection against the elements, either in natural colors or in clear. Our knives now available for sale are the result of lives of experience, extreme attention to detail, proficiency in violence, and have been in production for years before they reach the website.
These blades are currently available in two configurations: "Modern Warrior" and "Ancient Warrior". The Modern Warrior configuration is the exact setup that's currently in use with U.S. Army Special Forces. Some good friends in a clandestine unit help beta test our blades for us, along with our OCONUS security teams. All "neck" configuration blades come ready to be worn on a stainless steel chain. We use stainless steel chains because they don't rust or corrode, they don't scream "I'm tactical and have a weapon" like paracord around your neck, and it will break if too much tension is applied (like if someone is trying to strangle you with your necklace or if it gets caught in a machine/heavy equipment). The "IWB" version of these blades come with a soft loop ready to be worn inside the waistband. If you choose to purchase a Modern Warrior style blade you'll have the ability to carry and use the same edged weapons that some of the most dangerous men alive are carrying and using in some of the most dangerous areas of the world. The Ancient Warrior setup uses the same steel and undergoes the same initial production process as all of our blades but differs completely in final the finish. The finish process for the Ancient Warrior configuration takes much longer to complete and utilizes only the finest luxury knife making materials along with highly artistic and detailed techniques to create show quality pieces.
The Modern Warrior needs an edged weapon that's light, strong, fast, modular, funcional, discreet, and built utilizing advanced techniques and materials. This is exactly what our Modern Warrior configuration brings to the table. The finish is tough and durable with a color scheme that mimics both human skin tones and a broad array of natural environments, offering the user both concealment options and camouflage abilities. The handles are paracord wrapped because paracord is tough and strong. It provides a great grip whether your hands are wet, dry, or bloody. It can be used as cordage in an emergency, it isn't negatively affected by heat or cold, and it will never crack, swell, chip, or break.
We modern humans can't pretend to have invented the art of creating fine edged weapons, no these processes were perfected long ago, by Ancient Warriors. Our Ancient Warrior series of blades embodies the best of the last 5,000 years of killing tools by combining the look, feel, and soul of the greatest weapons of all time with our state of the art production techniques... We still manage to bring you the most effective edged weapons in the world, but now you can also experience the patina steel of the vikings, grip the silk and rayskin of the samurai, or feel the exotic hardwoods in hand that were prized by Aztec eagle warriors so many years ago. We use modern protective finishes and advanced construction processes combined with the look and feel of the lost worlds war fighters to bring you an Ancient Warrior style weapon that will be just as at home in a display case as it will on today's hard use battlefield.
Sheath options include kydex or leather, both individually hand made like everything else. The leather sheath has a snap retention and can be worn horizontally or vertically on the belt. The kydex sheath is custom molded for each blade with a retention of between 2 and 5 lbs. The kydex sheath is primarily designed to be worn around the neck with the included stainless steel chain but can also be worn inside/outside the waistband, or just about anywhere you decide to secure it via the 1/4" , 3/4" on center eyelets (select IWB from the checkout options and we'll ship your knife with a pull-the-dot soft loop or an injection molded malice clip) .
Carrying this knife in the intended manner may not be legal in your area. Please check your local knife laws before attempting to use or carry this potentially dangerous weapon. Due to the fact that our edged weapons and tools are completely custom, no two blades are the same. We are continually making minor improvements, as reports come back from the field via the Special Forces soldiers using our weapons, to keep them the most effective fighting tools in the world. Therefore, your product will differ slightly from the pictures shown here. All sales are final.
